Subgroups
The aims of the Society are to advance the science and art of gynaecological oncology for the benefit of the public. The Society delivers on its aims through a combination of Subgroups (Committees) and working parties. Subgroups tend to be longstanding committees with a published terms of reference. The Subgroups are chaired by a nominated/elected lead who will provide regular reports to BGCS Council.
Commissioning
Chair: Mr Nick Wood, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, NHS Trust
The Commissioning Subgroup will represent the interests of the gynaecological oncologic community on behalf of the Society.

Guidelines

The Guidelines Subgroup will oversee the development and update of clinical guidelines relevant to the Society.

The Oncology Subgroup will represent the interests of the gynaecological oncologic community on behalf of the Society.

Professional and Public Engagement

This Subgroup will oversee the development and maintenance of the website and social media.

Professional Development

The Professional Development Subgroup will address the subspecialty specific professional development needs of the gynaecological oncologic community on behalf of the Society.

Training

The Training Subgroup will represent the interests of the gynaecological oncologic community on behalf of the Society and will report to the BGCS Officers and Council.

Unit Leads
Chair: Ms Amy Keightley, Great Western Hospital, Swindon
The Unit Lead Subgroup will address the specific needs of the general gynaecology community who have a special interest or additional gynaecological oncology roles and responsibilities. This will include but is not limited to the leading of gynaecological oncology departments within cancer units on behalf of the Society.

Research Group (BGCS-RG)
Co-Chairs: Prof Christina Fotopoulou, Prof Susana Banerjee and Dr Rebecca Kristeleit.
The newly formed BGCS research group has been founded to support and expand multidisciplinary research to improve care and outcomes across the UK for women with gynaecological cancer. BGCS-RG will also act as an international voice for women with gynaecological cancer in the UK. BGCS-RG is the research arm of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society, a UK national charity that provides the professional home of health providers working and researching the area of gynaecological cancers
