Subgroups

The aims of the Society are to advance the science and art of gynaecological oncology for the benefit of the public. The Society delivers on its aims through a combination of Subgroups (Committees) and working parties. Subgroups tend to be longstanding committees with a published terms of reference. The Subgroups are chaired by a nominated/elected lead who will provide regular reports to BGCS Council.

 

Commissioning
Chair:  Mr Nick Wood, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, NHS Trust
The Commissioning Subgroup will represent the interests of the gynaecological oncologic community on behalf of the Society.

Guidelines
Co-Chairs: Miss Jo Morrison, Musgrove Park Hospital & Dr Alexandra Taylor, Royal Marsden Hospital
The Guidelines Subgroup will oversee the development and update of clinical guidelines relevant to the Society.

Non-Surgical Oncology
Chair:  Dr Agnieszka Michael, Consultant Medical Oncologist, Royal Surrey County Hospital
The Oncology Subgroup will represent the interests of the gynaecological oncologic community on behalf of the Society.

Professional and Public Engagement 
Chair: Dr Sadie Jones, University Hospital of Wales
This Subgroup will oversee the development and maintenance of the website and social media.

Professional Development
Chair:  Miss Nithya Ratnavelu, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead
The Professional Development Subgroup will address the subspecialty specific professional development needs of the gynaecological oncologic community on behalf of the Society.

Training
Chair:  Miss Elly Brockbank, Barts Health NHS Trust
The Training Subgroup will represent the interests of the gynaecological oncologic community on behalf of the Society and will report to the BGCS Officers and Council.

Unit Leads
Chair:  Ms Amy Keightley, Great Western Hospital, Swindon
The Unit Lead Subgroup will address the specific needs of the general gynaecology community who have a special interest or additional gynaecological oncology roles and responsibilities. This will include but is not limited to the leading of gynaecological oncology departments within cancer units on behalf of the Society.
