ESGO was founded in 1983 in Venice, Italy as the principal organization in Europe contributing to the study, prevention and treatment of gynaecological cancer. ESGO has members in over 30 countries in Europe.
Together with the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS), ESGO publishes the bi-monthly journal, the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer (IJGC), a highly popular journal covering many topics including basic science, epidemiology, diagnostic techniques, surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, pathology and experimental studies.
In addition, ESGO holds a biennial meeting where over 1500 experts meet to discuss the very latest advances in Gynaecological Oncology treatment and care as well as numerous conferences throughout the calendar year.
